Join
artist Leslie Horton Parker and others for an exhibition of her heart and soul Sunday, July 12, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 500 Court
St., Portsmouth.
The
exhibition will be held from 6pm to 9pm in the church's Parish House.
Come and see. Believe. Browse. Her paintings. See her life in paintings. Her perspective. Her eye. Her expression. What color, what life.
This
is an artist, living, mesmerizing, haunting. To be appreciated, to be
awed. An exhibition of life, loved. An exhibition of expression, not
statement. Not political, not social, not cultural, just an
expression of the heart, from the heart, from which we can't escape.
An
expression of the deep and the discernible. Of the understanding we
try to understand of a world, violent and diffident. Of a world of
ceaseless and senseless savagery.
But
in art, redemption. In our expression of the inexpressible, that of
death, our transfiguration.
Leslie
is a Portsmouth artist who has contributed so much to our community.
She is kind, compassionate, loving and caring. Leslie has always
given and now she is in need of help. Leslie has an illness that is
very severe and is unable to continue working. She has mounting
medical bills and her regular bills on top of that. I know she will
appreciate any amount you can give to help her. If you remember or
have been in the River View gallery in Portsmouth at the end of High
Street-the painting gallery on the right as you came in was Leslie's
studio. Let-s please band together and support this incredible soul
who has graced us with her presence and her talent.
